Sones de Mexico Ensemble performs with a Chicago Sinfonietta chamber ensemble (string quartet and a piano). Recorded live on April 25, 2008 at the National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago. "Huapango" by Jose Pablo Moncayo (1912-1958) is inspired in Mexican folk songs and rhythms. It is Mexico's quintessential symphonic work, and it is widely performed.
