Music Box Dancer (by Richard Clayderman)
Back***With slight revisions/additions by heartbtrue*** ***Written by Frank Mills; Performed by Richard Clayderman She plie's through life, spinning and twirling...with music all around Her arabasque-a delight to others, a performance adored Balon-she holds her pose, timidly mimmicking that choreographed by Maitre de ballet Adagio-her body gracefully aligned, in perfect balance But then she begins to look around, taking note of each step ...and begins questioning the routine... Piroutte-she turns-tempted to steer from that which is expected.... And carefully. Cautiously... Piroutte-she turns on one leg...but stays in place And then...And then... Entrechat! -She jumps and leaps...a dancer so free in air at last And in grande jete-she makes her exit...knowing the stage is but a show And that inside...she is a lone dancer....not quite belonging.. Though the light shines, and the stage is hers.... Inside...she knows...She dances only for herself Inside...she knows...It is but the music which keeps her going And alas she is free...from merely being.... a MUSIC BOX DANCER... ***Truest to themselves are those who dance OUTSIDE the box***
