At 2:23 you can see that each guitar has a out-put jack. That enables you to run the guitars through two different amplifiers. So you could have a clean sound on the left-hand guitar and distorted sound on the other one.

hes got one of the most unique picking style and to how he holds the pick if u ever noticed or watched one of his interviews which i would think helps him play so fast -that + alota practice!
